ENcome expands into Turkey

Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (20.08.2015): With the first orders for essential parts of the operational management of PV plants with a total capacity in the double-digit megawatt sector ENcome starts its business for the first time in Turkey. Together with the Turkish Kon-Tek group the renowned ENcome quality is now also offered for national and international investors in the emerging PV market Turkey. As one of the first companies ENcome establishes highest international standards in the technical operation of PV plants in Turkey.

In the traditional European PV markets the construction of new PV plants goes back massively based on the sharp declines of feed-in tariffs but also the announcement of the British government to make further verification of subsidies for photovoltaic creates uncertainty in the industry. However, new PV markets are developing where - due to strong solar radiation together  with high electricity prices - large PV plants with low feed-in tariffs can be operated economically and where therefore the construction of new PV plants is expected in the coming years. Turkey is one of these countries. Even through there was a larger time span between  the introduction of the feed-in tariff a few years ago and the implementation of the first important projects than expected by many market participants, numerous of PV plants are constructed in 2015.

ENcome is now represented at the right time in Turkey. “We are proud, to take over the first operational management in Turkey together with an excellent local partner “proudly say Dr. Robin Hirschl and Burkhard Söhngen, managing directors at ENcome Energy Performance GmbH. ENcome, which operates pan-European PV power plants with a total capacity of more than 400MWp, provides the technical know-how and takes care of the monitoring and maintenance of the PV plant; Konar Energy, a company of the Kon-Tek group of automation technology, mainly provides the local tasks. In this way, ENcome combines the many years of international experience with local presence.

As a first step, seven projects with a total capacity of 10 MW are connected to the control room of the ENcome group. Some project-specific challenges have to be observed: “In addition to the monitoring of the PV plants they are also to control itself according to the authorities and investors”, explains Dr. Robin Hirschl, “with the hard- and software used by ENcome it is easily possible to satisfy all requirements with simultaneous optimization of the plant yield”.
